February 4th, 2017 is World Cancer Day.
I appreciate my journey and blessings everyday, but today let’s especially celebrate the fighters, survivors, and the one’s who have earned their angel wings. Unfortunately many of us have been touched by cancer in some way, and today is a day to focus on that in a positive way and honor the beautiful people who fight the beast we call cancer.
My journey with cancer started 8 years ago and will continue for the rest of my life. Your journey does not end once treatment ends, it is forever a part of you. I had both positive and negative moments. I cried and yelled, but also laughed and smiled. I would not go back and change a thing because it made me the strong woman I am today. I am not perfect; I have my struggles, but I am working on them to successfully accomplish my goals and work towards my dreams.
I lost some people throughout this journey, including my best friend and college roommate. But I also met and came across so many beautiful people that were meant to come in to my life. I am keeping this short and sweet. Hug your loved ones today, smile, and thank God that you are here. The smiling faces in the picture IS cancer. Through it all, we smile and we fight. We had cancer, cancer did not have us.
